Who We Are
The Mission United team offers a wealth of knowledge and experience to benefit military community members who find themselves in need. Each of us has strong connections to our local military and veteran neighbors, and we are honored to serve those who have served us so faithfully.
What We Do
The Hampton Roads region boasts one of the largest military-connected populations in the nation – over 400,000 veterans, active duty members, and their families. When our military neighbors are in need, Mission United Hampton Roads stands ready to help, connecting them to community organizations that can provide relief. Mission United, a collective impact initiative spearheaded by the United Way of South Hampton Roads, is a free program that coordinates community services for active duty service members, veterans and their families, connecting them to affordable housing, job training, health care and other resources through a single entry point to the help they need.
Mission United serves the Hampton Roads military and veteran population including:
- Active duty service members from all five branches, including the Reserves and National Guard
- Military retirees
- Military spouses and dependents
- Caregivers
- Veterans of any era with any discharge
Get Involved
We are constantly seeking new partners to be a part of Mission United to ensure that we are successfully meeting the needs of our service members, veterans, and their families. If you think your organization would be a good fit with Mission United, please send us an email.
Our goal for this site is that it be a reflection of what our community needs and wants, so we invite you to share your ideas, feedback, and input. Do you have any recommendations? Thoughts on good military deals and discounts in the area? Have you heard about an event coming up that would be a great fit on our site? All of these answers are important facts that we want to hear about, so please send us an email to give us that feedback.
Are you a military family in need?
