THE VIRGINIA BEACH TRAGEDY FUND
On May 31, 2019, our community was struck by tragedy when a mass shooting occurred at a municipal building in Virginia Beach, taking the lives of 12 individuals and critically injuring four others. Knowing the community would seek to rally around those affected, the City of Virginia Beach asked United Way of South Hampton Roads to be their partner in establishing a fund for the victims.
Since then, United Way has maintained the Virginia Beach Tragedy Fund for those who wish to honor and remember the victims through a donation. 100% of the funds have and will continue to go to the victims and their families.
If you'd like to make a gift to the fund, you may do so using the form below. You may also make a donation by check if you'd like to avoid the processing fees charged by credit card companies when using the form. The check should be made out to "United Way of South Hampton Roads" and the memo line should read "Virginia Beach Tragedy Fund." Check donations can be mailed to:
