Juan, a four-year military veteran was sleeping in a shed. “Finding a safe place to sleep at night is hard,” the single veteran told a United
Way Mission United Case Manager. “I did ask some agencies for help. But they don’t help single, adult guys like me.” Juan knew the community prides itself on caring for veterans. He just couldn’t figure out how to access it, until now.
The Case Manager connected Juan with Supportive Services for Veterans and Families,
a Mission United community partner. A few days later, Juan was smiling. Housing was now in his immediate future. “I’m ready to get my life back on track,” he said.
