Billy was six years old when his house burned to the ground leaving him and his family homeless. the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia provided Billy with all the encouragement and support he needed to become the well-balanced young man he is today.
Staff members inspired him to build his portfolio and apply to the Governer’s School for the Arts. Today, the South Norfolk resident attends that school as well as Oscar Smith High School. Last year a jacket he designed was displayed at the Chrysler Art Museum. He believes that Club members and staff make a difference in a child’s life.
