“As Helen Keller said, ‘Alone we can do so little; Together we can do so much.’ That’s why even more important to me than giving is collective giving and being a voice for others who do not have a seat at the table. Collective giving allows us to go beyond short-term fixes – bandages to societal problems. By pooling our resources and talents, we can enact sustainable, life-changing solutions for people most affected by inequities. This is why I give my time, talent, and treasure to United Way of South Hampton Roads as Vice Chair of the African American Leadership Society.”
