“Through United Way, I’ve had the privilege of assisting those in the VB Thrive program towards self-sufficiency. I have been able to share my knowledge about community resources to those in the ALICE population, who are often the most forgotten in terms of assistance, helped them to navigate the system, and provide encouragement along the way. It feels good knowing that we are helping not only the participant on their path to self-sufficiency, but the future generations in their family too. Hearing their stories only helps me to become a better advocate for those in the community.”
